Last week Family and Friends Choir donned their Christmas jumpers and went to Amerind Grove Care Home on Raleigh Road to sing for and with the residents. The residents and members of the care team were waiting in the lounge for us when we arrived and were very welcoming. We gathered round the Christmas tree to sing 8 songs kicking off with Christmas is Coming which got a big round of applause from the audience - we took this as a cue to get them singing with us in a rendition of What Shall We Do with the Drunken Sailor. They were very obliging!
When we had finished our set the adults were treated to tea and mince pies and the children were absolutely thrilled when some of our audience gathered round to present them with festive chocolate selection boxes. Family and Friends choir got a lot out of this experience and we hope to be able to visit again soon!
Family and Friends Choir meet on Tuesday afternoons 6-7pm at Windmill Hill City Farm.
